Last night before bed, Hudson began pointing to a photo in one of his books of a toy fire station. "Hudson fire station! Hudson fire station! Fire truck INSIDE!" The message was not difficult to interpret. His Mommy asked him if he would like to make a fire station out of a box when he woke up. The little guy agreed quickly. It was not a surprise to anyone, then, when he started talking about his fire station first thing in the morning. An old shoe box, some paper from the recycling box, and a few crayons later, Hudson had his fire station. Given that there are no internal supports, it's now a question of how long the fire station will last before getting smooshed. Guesses?

Next time he is NY we can take him to a real fire station. I'm sure he'd love it.

Tell Grandma we have a Fire Station 2 1/2 blocks away on Astor Ave between Eastchester Road and Fenton Ave. He can watch them cleaning the fire engine in a real fire house.
