It was a long day on Ocracoke for the Younger parents. A second day of stormy weather kept the family mostly indoors, where Hudson gave a big thumbs down to potty training. He wasn't the least bit upset about sitting in wet clothing and decided he would wear big boy underpants "later." He then proclaimed there weren't enough toys to play with indoors and found being naughty a replacement source of entertainment. Thankfully, his Mommy finally found something - watercolors - to keep him busy. For her part, Celia kept her poor Daddy working hard by fighting off a "practice" bottle of milk yet again... this time for well over an hour. With her Mommy planning to return to work in just over a week, her recent (and loud) refusal of the bottle has become a source of stress for everyone. Here's hoping tomorrow brings some sunshine!!!

Unsolicited advice from a non-parent (temporarily): Some friends out here had the same bottle-refusing problem with their son (she's an ER doc who was back at work after 3 mo). He would take it in day care but refuse it if he was at home. Their attitude was that he'd eventually get hungry enough to take it from Dad and sure enough, he did (take it from dad - with no cost to his little weight).
Grandpa ray yankee and Gramzi are ready for "active duty call up" any time you are ready for us. It's something that we look forward to and can actually agree about.
