Hudson and Celia's Daddy had planned a very special early birthday surprise for their Mommy today. They were supposed to go on a hike (Mommy's birthday request), but instead of somewhere local, he was going to drive them 3 hours to Crowder Mountain State Park where the Weinbergs were to make a surprise appearance. Alas, the weather for the western part of the state called for rain and flooding today, so the birthday surprise will be a non-surprise outing in a few weeks. And today turned into - Plan B!
The Youngers headed to Oval Drive Park, another great Durham playground they've been wanting to check out. The kids loved playing on the structures and everyone snarfed up a picnic lunch (except Hudson, who rushed to get back to climbing). When the rain finally showed up, their Mommy had a great idea... she thought she remembered there was a carousel at Northgate Mall... and there was! Plan B was a success!
