June brought summer to Durham and the Younger kids and jumped right in... especially to the pool! Hudson has been taking lessons with (beloved) Kathleen, while Celia is a fearless little fishy with whoever tries to hold onto her in the water... and it's an effort - she kicks, wiggles, jumps, flops, and has no fear putting her head underwater. Crazy kid! Other than their pool exploits, June included biking, blueberry picking (Celia), Family Preschool camp (Hudson), making pasta with Nonna, and a visit to the planetarium with Daddy. The kids also did great during their Mommy's two absences - two nights off with girlfriends in the mountains and a night away with Daddy at a nearby resort hotel. (Many thanks to Nonna for the latter.)
Hudson's big interests in June included crafts, assisting Daddy with projects (like building a kid-sized picnic table), making "hideouts," swinging so high on the indoor swing that he almost touches the kitchen ceiling, playing firefighter and superhero, and listening to stories about people when they were younger, especially Uncle Howard and Uncle Jeff. Meanwhile, Celia has been dancing, singing, and chatting up a storm. She speaks in complete sentences that are typically either directives (I want more chocolate RIGHT NOW!) or commentary (Celia goes splash, splash, splash!). Although they are both naughty quite a bit, these two completely crack their parents up. They are lots of fun!
