What a whirlwind July for the Younger kids! The early half of the month was filled with fun activities around town - a puppet show, splashing and swimming at the pool, a horseback riding lesson, and gymnastics camp for Hudson. However, July 2012 will always be remembered for the kids' big adventure in the Pacific Northwest. They went to Seattle, the San Juan Islands, Mount Rainier National Park, the Oregon Coast, Portland, and the Columbia River Gorge! While the trip certainly had its challenges, Hudson and Celia were truly fun to travel with, and impressed everyone (including their parents) all along the way. Their Mommy and Daddy hope they always keep their adventuresome spirits.
In terms of milestones, Hudson's interest in science is growing by leaps and bounds. He especially loves learning about astronomy and geology and has an amazing ability to store data in his ever curious mind. We would be remiss not to mention Hudson's biggest feat of the month, accomplished yesterday... according to his Daddy, Hudson biked 19.6 miles at an average pace of 7.5 mph. What a proud papa!
Meanwhile, Celia has become so sassy! She speaks in full sentences all the time and has no qualms about stating very specifically what she wants. And she is known to screech if she doesn't get it! Demanding as she is, she is also so sweet and always ready to plant a wet smooch on her friends and family. She also loves to give great big squeezy hugs and is content to cuddle for longer than her big brother ever permitted. The siblings are quite different from one another in many ways, but are really having a great time together these days!
