Hudson met our friend, Karen, today. He was enchanted with her, especially when she started speaking her native Afrikaans while on the phone with her mother.
Karen's visit with the highlight of a rather trying day that began in the wee hours of the morning. All three Youngers were up at 3 am when Hudson decided to continue his daylight-hour nursing strike (which has been going on for the last few weeks) into the night. This led to much chaos and we are all (even the dogs) still exhausted.
The little guy also refused the bottle a couple of times today and was generally somewhat cranky, leaving us to wonder if perhaps he's teething. There have been other signs, from hands in mouth to ear tugging to drooling - just not the obvious swollen gums. We're going to do everything we can to soothe the potential teething and get him back to nursing... as Suzanne keeps saying, parenthood is like Survivor... outwit, outplay, outlast!
