Tonight, with Craig at a soccer game, Suzanne decided that she'd use the time to make some zucchini bread. (Papa Spuds has been giving us tons of zukes.) She was halfway done when Hudson woke up. He was in pleasant spirits as he got changed and nursed, and happily fell asleep in his Mommy's arms as she told him a story. Suzanne carefully placed him in the crib and returned to zucchini bread making.
Of course, with hands covered in batter (who needs a mixer?), Hudson woke up. And once hands were clean, the phone rang. By the time Suzanne was able to race to the video monitor, Hudson was screaming at the top of his lungs and flailing around the crib. Having said she'd never try all that Ferber "cry it out" stuff at bedtime, she turned to race upstairs. But then a strange thing happened. Hudson zonked out. Hhmm, perhaps a new rule to add to the parenting list? Never judge what another parent does, and never ever say you won't try something. Lesson learned.
