All But the W

It had all the makings of a perfect day... except for the Yankees losing! The Youngers enjoyed great weather, a snazzy new stadium, and 50,000+ crazy fans (the most crazy, of course, being Grandpa Ray!). Hudson had a blast playing with his Cousin Madeline and even managed to take a snooze during the ill-fated 7th inning. Rumor has it the lot of us were briefly on the local (YES network) coverage of the pre-game while John Fogerty was singing. More pix are here.

Grandpa Ray autographed a mint condition "Babe Ruth" League baseball signifying Hudson's attendance at the Opening Day April 16, 2009 game the Yankees played against the Cleveland Indians.(The first official Major League game at the new Yankee Stadium) P.S. The score was not recorded on the ball because the Yankees didn't get the "W".

It does sound like a PERFECT day!!! (Although this may be a bit biased as I am writing from Red Sox Nation....). Give it a few years, and I see a dynamic duo of Grandpa and Hudson going to the games witout mom as chaparone. -Wendy
